Nominate your health hero for WHH People’s Choice Award

Members of the public are being invited to nominate staff and volunteers at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals for a prestigious new award.

The Trust’s annual Thank You Awards ceremony is taking place at the Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester Airport, on Friday 10 May.

Almost 300 members of staff and invited guests attended last year’s event, which is held at no cost to the NHS thanks in part to support from local businesses and corporate partners.

Nominations are now open for the 2023-2024 awards, with 12 trophies set to be presented on the night – including Clinical Team of the Year, Support Team of the Year, WHH Colleague of the Year, and the Rising Star Award.

New this year is the People’s Choice Award, with Warrington and Halton residents invited to submit a nomination for a person, team, ward or department that has made a positive difference to their experience here during the past 12 months.

Simon Constable, Chief Executive of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Although these continue to be testing times for the NHS as a whole, evenings like the WHH Thank You Awards are important because they give us the opportunity to reflect on the positives and recognise the achievements of our teams, from innovations in clinical research, healthcare and technology, to improvements in patient safety standards and outcomes.

“This year we are appealing externally to members of the public to nominate staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile to help others – through acts of kindness, compassion and dedication to duty – for our People’s Choice Award.

“Whether your experience has been during an inpatient stay, routine appointment, emergency visit or even while supporting another family member or friend in hospital, any of our staff members or volunteers can be considered. All nominations will be gratefully received and considered by our judging panel.”

The closing date for entries is Monday 26 February.

Nominations can be made by completing this form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NNWDNQ5

The Trust would also like to hear from local businesses that may be interested in supporting the event as a sponsor. For further enquiries email whh.thankyouawards@nhs.net or call 01925 662993.
