Mr Doorgakant graduated from Newcastle University in 2003. After his core surgical training, he took 2 years out to work as a volunteer with VSO in Malawi, and still maintains a close link with the orthopaedic community out there.
Upon his return, he completed surgical training in the Mersey region. He undertook a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and joined Warrington as a consultant in 2019.
Mr Doorgakant’s additional roles include audit governance lead for the department since 2020 and educational supervisor for medical students and junior doctors. He is actively involved in research and quality improvement and, to date, has 20 peer reviewed publications, 2 book chapters and 1 book to his name. He also coordinates the journal club meetings for the department.
Mr Doorgakant was selected for the prestigious Future Leaders Programme run by the BOA, which he completed in 2020. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and World Orthopaedic Concern.
