Mr Acharya qualified from the University of Mumbai, India in 1994. In 2001, he commenced higher surgical training on the Mersey Deanery rotation. He returned to the Northwest in January 2007 and gained fellowship experience at the renowned Exeter Hip Centre and Melbourne. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2007.
He has previously worked at Royal Liverpool and Wrightington hospitals where he gained further experience in sports medicine knee surgery prior to taking up a consultant post at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He regularly teaches on the AO trauma course as national faculty and co-organises knee surgery regional teaching.
Mr Acharya's interests away from work include badminton, cycling and reading.
