Mr Tighe undertook a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at the University of Sydney and Concord Hospital, Australia (Professor Les Bokey) 1998-9.

He was then appointed Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust June 2000 – present day.

MD Thesis – Sepsis in patients receiving Intravenous Nutrition.
10 publications in peer-reviewed journals (six first author), and over 50 presentations to learned societies.
