Mrs Oldfield studied medicine at the University of Liverpool and qualified in 2005. She trained as a surgeon at Northwest Mersey Deanery and gained her Certificate of Completion of Training in 2020.
Following this, she spent 6 months at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the Department of Paediatric Surgery gaining a Fellowship in the General Surgery of Childhood. Mrs Oldfield then spent 2 years researching pancreatic cancer at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and has peer reviewed publications and published book chapters. This work has been presented nationally and internationally. She is extremely passionate about high quality medical education and is actively involved in teaching junior doctors and medical students. She has recently been appointed as Guardian of Safe Working at Warrington Hospital. This leadership role allows her to advocate for our doctors in training to ensure safe working hours and appropriate senior support.
Mrs Oldfield has a young family and enjoys cooking and travelling in her spare time.
