Dr Christos Zivlas graduated from the Medical School (MD) of the University of Athens, Greece, in 2003. He was certified in Cardiology in 2014, after finishing his training at the General Hospital of Nikea, one of the busiest hospitals in Athens. The same year he was awarded the European Diploma in General Cardiology by the European Society of Cardiology. In 2015, he moved to the UK, where he gained further experience at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and then at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. In 2019, he also gained experience in surgical transoesophageal echocardiography at the John Radcliffe University Hospital in Oxford, working along with some of the top cardiac surgeons in the UK. In the same year, he completed his PhD thesis, which investigated new biomarkers in heart failure patients. In May 2020 he was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Warrington Hospital.  

 Dr Zivlas has published several articles in international journals as a first author, which can be found on PubMed and Google Scholar. He is also a reviewer in major cardiology journals, including the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging and the American Heart Journal.  

 Dr Zivlas is a certified educational supervisor for junior doctors and he is a dedicated teacher. 

 He likes to treat his patients in a thorough and meticulous way. 

 When he doesn’t work, he enjoys spending time with his young family and friends, going for walks, watching films and listening to music.
