Dr Christos Zivlas graduated from the Medical School (MD) of the University of Athens, Greece, in 2003. He was certified in Cardiology in 2014, after finishing his training at the General Hospital of Nikea, one of the busiest hospitals in Athens. The same year he was awarded the European Diploma in General Cardiology by the European Society of Cardiology. In 2015, he moved to the UK, where he gained further experience at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and then at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. In 2019, he also gained experience in surgical transoesophageal echocardiography at the John Radcliffe University Hospital in Oxford, working along with some of the top cardiac surgeons in the UK. In the same year, he completed his PhD thesis, which investigated new biomarkers in heart failure patients. In May 2020 he was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Warrington Hospital.
