Information about the Coronavirus and advice for patients.

Coronavirus presents with flu-like symptoms including a fever, a cough, or difficulty breathing.

The current evidence is that most cases appear to be mild. If you have returned from Wuhan or anywhere in Hubei province in the last 14 days you should:

1. Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu.

2. Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the city

It is important that you follow this advice even if you do not have symptoms of the virus.

If you have travelled from elsewhere in China, or Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau to the UK in the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough, fever or shortness of breath, you should:

3. Immediately self-isolate, even if your symptoms are minor and call NHS111.

Please do not come to the hospital or go to your GP if you have been in contact with anyone that has returned from these countries AND have symptoms of cough, fever or shortness of breath. Instead call NHS111 who will give you further instructions.
