Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) – Widnes
General introduction
The Widnes Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) provides treatment for conditions that require urgent treatment but are not life-threatening including:
- slips, trips, sprains and minor falls
- cuts, wounds, rashes and allergic reactions
- minor burns, scalds, bites and stings
- coughs, colds and sore throats
- back pain, indigestion and stomach upset
- ear, nose or eye injuries and infections
- emergency contraception
What we don't treat:
- cardiac chest pain
- severe difficulty in breathing
- head injuries with loss of consciousness
- head injuries in children under 1 year old
- strokes
- sudden loss of vision
- repeat prescriptions
- chronic or ongoing conditions
Please call 999 or visit your local Emergency Department (A&E) for all serious life-threatening illness and injuries.
Opening times
The Urgent Treatment Centre is open from 8am to 9pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year (including bank holidays) but please arrive before 8pm to allow time to be seen before closing.
