Podiatry Biomechanics Service – Warrington

General introduction

We provide assessment, advice and treatment for a range of foot, leg and hip‑related problems.

This may include advice about appropriate footwear, stretching and strengthening exercises, as well as insoles and orthotics where appropriate.

How to access this service

Referrals can be made via your GP, consultant or another healthcare professional, and all referrals are triaged.

If a referral is not appropriate, it will be redirected to the most suitable service.

  • assessment of your footwear
  • observation of you standing and walking to look at your foot and leg position
  • you may be asked to sit or lie on a treatment couch, depending on the reason for your referral

Please attend in, or bring, suitable clothing to change into – for example, shorts or a skirt.

Your role in treatment

  • notify us of any medications you are currently taking
  • notify us of any medical conditions you may have
  • contact the clinic if you are unable to attend an appointment
  • carry out any self‑care you are advised to do
