How to access this service

Referrals

Once your child has a confirmed diagnosis, a referral to the specialist nursing team must be completed by a health professional such as a GP, health visitor, school nurse etc.

For information about what happens after this referral, please see our neurodevelopmental conditions information page.

If you need further support following this, please contact the team. A telephone appointment will be arranged to determine the most appropriate support.

Professional referrals can be sent to us via post.

Appointments

Clinics run across various locations in Warrington, and school or home visits can be arranged when clinically necessary.

Appointments for ADHD are rearranged by emailing us, and all other specialist nursing appointments are rearranged by calling us. Both contact details can be found in the 'Contact us' section on this page.

Missing an appointment may lead to discharge, and for ADHD it will stop medication.

Appointments last 15-60 minutes and children should attend with a parent or carer, though some young people may attend alone. If you need to discuss something privately, please request a telephone appointment.

For emergencies, contact your GP, 111, Social Care (01925 444400), or the Mental Health Crisis Team (01744 627618); attend A&E or call 999 if there is extreme risk.

Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are requested by emailing us via the 'Contact us' section with your child’s name, DOB, and medication.
