Our name change to North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals and Bridgewater Community Healthcare are joining forces to integrate hospital and community services.

On 1 April 2026, we will acquire Bridgewater Community Healthcare and officially change the name of our trust to North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust. 

Bringing our hospital and community services together means we’ll be able to make things better for our patients, our staff, and our communities, not only in the short term but in years to come. 

Our new name represents our combined organisation and the work we are doing to improve the care we give to our patients and the places where we provide our services.

Although our name is changing, there are lots of important things that will stay the same – most importantly the wide range of services and care we provide for our communities. 

If you use our services, there will be no immediate changes to your care and treatment. The team will continue to contact you in the same way, and you will continue to receive your treatment at the same place. 

All our hospital building and community site names, addresses and contact details will stay the same, meaning you will be able to contact our staff and teams as normal.   

You may notice some small changes, but these will not affect the level of service or care you receive. These changes include: 

• our name – we’ll use this when we are talking to you, when we answer the phone or on our voicemail
• our letters – our new name and logo will be included on written communications you receive from us
• our website – this will have a new web address and include details of our community services
• social media accounts – we’ll update our name on our accounts so you know it’s us

Over time, other things will change and we will always let you know about this. We will be working through these changes in a phased approach, ensuring we maintain our commitment to sustainability.
