Acute Respiratory and Enhanced Care roles

Staff Nurses - 

Acute Respiratory and Enhanced Care (Band 5)

We have exciting opportunities for Band 5 acute medical staff nurses to join our innovative and award-winning Respiratory Team on a new combined Respiratory and Enhanced Care Unit at Warrington Hospital.

This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a team on a newly refurbished unit which is co-located with critical care to offer a ‘best in class’ model of care. Successful applicants will also be part of the team responsible for the development of the internationally renowned ‘Warrington Black Box’ modified CPAP device. The team have won multiple national awards for their innovation early in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Acute Respiratory and Enhanced Care Unit has been designed to provide dedicated respiratory care, with 14 of the 28 beds capable of ‘step up’ to an  enhanced level of care for patients who may otherwise need to be in critical care beds, providing Nasal High Flow, CPAP, NIV, and Trachy care to complex patients.
The unit is also home to four state-of-the-art Bioquell pods which provide negative pressure to support isolation and combat a wide variety of respiratory infections. Care is provided to patients by a seven day consultant-led service and a talented multi-disciplinary team.
