Natalie Duthie is a newly qualified ODP. Natalie has trained for three years, which consists of a BSc(Hons) degree programme in Operating Department Practice (Scrub, Recovery and Anaesthetics). Her day could consist of being in a theatre list, this would require Natalie to ensure the patient, has a safe journey through the theatre department.
Natalie is part of a multi professional theatre team, that all work together, to ensure the patient is cared for throughout their surgical journey. On another day Natalie could be called to or working in, A&E resus, answering trauma calls, going on an internal/ external transfer with ICU patients, working in Maternity or holding the emergency bleep. ODP’s are very versatile and In theatre, no two days are never the same.
