WHH teams take to the water

Teams across Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be taking to the water to do battle on Sunday 18th June at Manley Mere. It is all for a good cause; as they will be raising monies for the WHH Charity’s Children’s Ward Making Waves campaign. The Dragon Boat Race is open to all and the ‘call to action’ is to invite other local businesses and companies to enter teams to see who will come out as top Dragon!

So who is up for the challenge? One of the team’s taking part from WHH is our Transformation Team.

Stephen Bennett, head of transformationexplains their reason for taking up the challenge;

“The Transformation Team here at WHH has recently been established with the aim of driving innovation, delivering improvement and supporting change. Our team has been brought together from a range of different professional backgrounds under a shared purpose of wanting to make our Trust the best that it can be.

“The Trust and its associated charity exist to provide healthcare for a large number of patients, employment for over 3,000 staff and support for a large number of businesses and external organisations in and around Warrington and Halton. We believe that if every single person connected with this organisation was able to give back some support either financially or even just through giving their time, the possibilities for the organisation could be endless and the WHH staff and communities in and around Warrington and Halton could help create a healthcare facility they are truly proud of.

“Our team are looking to participate in the Dragon boat race to show our commitment and support to the WHH charity that are looking to transform the Children’s ward here at the trust.”

The Children’s Ward Making Waves campaign new project is to raise much needed funds to re-vamp the Paediatrics outdoor play area, to give our young patients and visitor’s fresh air and somewhere to either relax or let off steam, whilst they are with us. The outdoor play area will be situated in one of the courtyards accessed off B11.

The event will be from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Manley Mere, near Frodsham.

On event day all the equipment will be provided for you, all you need to do is sign up before hand and fundraise for the Children’s Ward new Outdoor Play Area project.

A must to take part is enthusiasm, energy and humour and in return a good time will be had by all; win or lose!
