National Citizens give back
WHH Charity enlisted the support from volunteers of NCS Warrington Group this week to find their green fingers and help to plant out some spring blooms in the grounds of Warrington Hospital.
The volunteers from NCS Warrington were led by Ellie Pursglove from Warrington, who wanted to make a difference in their local community and chose to support the Trust.
After noticing that the grounds of Warrington Hospital needed a little attention, Ellie and her team decided they wanted to create a more welcoming entrance area and provide a better visual experience for patients and visitors.
Several volunteers spent the day with two members of Trust staff who had volunteered to support the team in their actions, they were Charity Fundraising Manager, Helen Higginson and staff gardener Keith Skeech.
In total this wonderful group of young adults were able to spruce up three large areas of the hospital, and with the support of local garden centres plant the most beautiful array of plants, of which will soon flourish the beds with colour.
Helen said, "It was a delight to work alongside this highly motivated group; each and every member had a great attitude to making a difference. Ellie is a huge credit to the NCS and to her team for liaising with the trust to create this fabulous opportunity. WHH Charity hopes to continue to support NCS in their wonderful work with young people, and hope to work alongside other groups in the future."
Ellie added, "On behalf of the NCS group we just wanted to say thank you for letting us come and make your gardens beautiful, we also would like to thank Keith for letting us do the gardens."
